Arne Jacobsen was a Danish architect and furniture designer who was and is currently recognized for his significant contributions to architectural functionalism and for the worldwide success he achieved through his captivating and extravagant designs like the Egg chair.

Before Arne Jacobsen became a professional architect, he wanted to become a painter, but thanks to the pressure and influence of his parents, he entered the world of architecture. Following this decision, he was admitted to the School of Architecture of the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, where from 1924 to 1927 he studied with Kay Fisker and Kaj Gottlob, both prominent architects and designers who collaborated throughout his career.
